Growing in Grace: A Lifelong Journey
Scripture: “But grow in the grace and knowledge of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.” – 2 Peter 3:18
Spiritual growth isn’t a one-time event—it’s a lifelong journey. Peter’s closing words remind us: grow. Not just know about Jesus. Not just experience His grace once. But keep growing—in understanding Him, depending on His grace, and becoming more like Him.
Think of it like climbing a mountain:
- Intentional effort: Growth doesn’t happen by accident.
- Continual learning: There’s always more to discover about Jesus.
- Daily grace: His strength fills in where we fall short.
Peter doesn’t command perfection. He invites progress. It’s okay to stumble, as long as we keep moving forward.
Consider a child learning the piano. At first, the notes are clumsy, mistakes frequent, and frustration high. But with daily practice, what was once difficult becomes natural. The keys now produce beautiful music.
Christian growth works the same way. As we read God’s Word, pray, and walk with other believers, our lives begin to reflect a more beautiful tune of grace and truth. And it’s not for our applause—Peter reminds us: “To Him be glory both now and forever!”
Prayer:
Lord, help me grow in Your grace every day. Teach me to know You more, trust You deeper, and reflect You better. May my life give glory to You—now and always. Amen.
