Psalms for Today 10 - Teach me your ways, O Lord.

Daily reflections in Verse, Music and Artwork by Rev’d Paul Collings

Psalm 86:11-13  Teach me your way, Lord, that I may rely on your faithfulness; give me an undivided heart, that I may fear your name. I will praise you, Lord my God, with all my heart; I will glorify your name forever. For great is your love toward me; you have delivered me from the depths, from the realm of the dead.

How can I trust your living aim

Of faithfulness and grace?

How can I glorify you’re name

And there atonement trace?

How can I know your holiness

When darkened depths ensnare

Where evil rules and sinfulness

Denys my souls welfare.

In faithfulness you reach the mire

Of my despairing plight

And there remake my hearts desire

My motives set aright.

You give my heart a purpose new

And set awe deep within

Where glory, praise, and thanks ensues

That love so great must win.

Our faith is not meant to get us out of a hard place or change our painful condition. Rather, it is meant to reveal God's faithfulness to us in the midst of our dire situation.
