I am the Way

Day 7 The I AM Sayings of Jesus

Jesus answered, “I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me. John 14:6

Lord of Truth, of Way and Life I come to you for guidance this day, that through your Truth I might be set free to live life in all its fullness. Help me today to follow the way you have prepared for me and as I journey share your life, your truth and direction with others. Amen

Are we nearly there yet,
The cry the children make
When we haven’t even travelled
Beyond the home front gate.

The journey’s just a myst’ry
To young enquiring mind;
The map it has no relevance
The route they cannot find.

The distance of the journey
Adds to the infants cares
And truth of where we going
Is  another strange affair.

Yet even to the parent
With some knowledge of life’s plan;
The truth of the eternal
Is so difficult to scan.

What beacon or what signpost
Does life’s intent require?
What navigation’s lasting aid
Is there for sale or hire.

What if by some strange miracle
A method that is sound
Where way and truth and life
In one could now be found.

O Jesus, of life’s human road,
O Master of the way.
O truth beyond all doubting
When comes the guiding ray.

Show me the Fathers blessing
The way the truth the life
Help me to follow nearly
And an end to journey’s strife.

Your Cross before to guide me
Your Spirit to empower
The Father’s love protecting
Each moment and each hour.

Help me to place within your hands
The travel and the fret
No longer questioning or ask

Is Journey ending yet.

Tomorrow we start a new series entitled, Locked down but not out, tracing  the bible  experience of lock down through the eyes of Joseph, The Excile, The Psalmist, Job, Legion, Paul and Dietrich Bonhoeffer.
