Psalms for Today 7 - Psalm 56 I know that God is with me

Psalm 56:3-4 When I am afraid, I put my trust in you. In God, whose word I praise—in God I trust and am not afraid.

Here is today’s musical reflection “I know that God is with me”

I put my trust in you, my Lord

When anxious fears disrupt, discord;

The inner melody of peace

You will for me, to bring release.

And when such foes, without, within

Impact my soul, would crush would win

Their battle plan, my life destroy

Come gracious Lord, your pease deploy.

Lord, may the faltering praise I bring

And from bathed heart with joy to sing

Of lasting hope, and inner calm

Speak ever of your loving balm.

You know my mind, and speak my name,

With tender words you free, acclaim

And strengthen my resolve to stand

As one who trusts your loving hand.

Never be afraid to trust an unknown future to a known God."
